We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the biostatistics team at Case Western Reserve University. The position is available immediately and will be focused on conducting statistical analysis of omics data. The Research Associate will play a pivotal role in biostatistical research. Candidates will assist the PI to utilize data-driven approaches and statistical methods to translate large medical data from benchwork to knowledge in precision medicine. We and our partners aim to integrate state-of-art biotechnologies with various types of statistical methods to make biomedical discoveries. The successful candidate will be actively engaged in biostatistical methodology development and/or applied collaborative research in biostatistics and quantitative health.

 

Xiaofeng Zhu is a statistical geneticist at Case Western Reserve University. His research focus is in the areas of association analysis, population stratification, and admixture mapping, with extensive experience in genetic study design and analysis. For more details, please refer to

This role involves working on a project that is funded by NIH/NHGRI. The main objective of this position is to create innovative statistical methods and computer software to analyze large-scale biological data obtained from UK Biobank data and NHLBI Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine. These datasets consist of extensive genome-wide association, whole-genome sequencing, and multi-omics data. The successful candidate will also be responsible for writing manuscripts and presenting research findings at scientific conferences.

Job Requirements

Credentials and Qualifications: PhD in Biostatistics/Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Genetics or related field. The ideal candidate for this position should 1. possess strong programming skills in languages such as R or Python 2. have a research background in biostatistics, statistical genetics, or population genetics. 3. have experience in analyzing data in any of the following areas: genome-wide association, whole-genome sequencing, RNA-seq, epigenetics, proteomics, metabolomics, or Alzheimer’s disease, among others. 4. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential for this role.
