Job Description

Applications are open - until January 6th - for a Senior Geneticist Molecular position at CGPP. We are looking for candidates with a PhD in human molecular genetics or a related field, or speciality in medical genetics (for medical doctors), or a nationally recognized title of specialty in human genetics (for non-medical doctors), with formal training and experience in all currently used molecular biology techniques, and >3 years of experience on interpretation/validation of genetic results and (co)signing molecular genetic test /clinical reports.

Job Requirements

(1) PhD in human molecular genetics or a related field, or speciality in medical genetics (for medical doctors), or a nationally recognized title of specialty in human genetics (for non-medical doctors). (2) formal training and experience in all currently used molecular biology techniques; (3) >3 years of experience on interpretation/validation of genetic results and (co)signing molecular genetic test /clinical reports; (4) experience in interpretation/validation of genetic test results obtained through conventional methodologies, namely Sanger sequencing, fragment analysis, qPCR or MLPA; (5) knowledge of the bioinformatics processing, common software and databases, in particular the classification and interpretation of variants identified after analysis of whole-exome sequencing data or targeted gene panels; (6) the clinical laboratory expertise necessary for generating medical diagnostic reports; (7) high motivation, and good communication and organization skills; (8) good interpersonal relationships and capacity of working within a multidisciplinary team; (9) rigor and high sense of responsibility in the context of a clinical diagnostics laboratory; (10) good command of the English language (spoken and written).
