"Navigating the future of genetics" – 2026 EuroGentest webinar
Updates on quality assurance, regulations and professional standards in clinical and laboratory practices
The EuroGentest online seminars will take place on April 1st, 2026 from 11.00am-12.00pm and 1.00pm-1.30pm CEST.
The programme consists of three presentations providing an update on burning issues in clinical and laboratory genetics.
Session 1 (11.00am-12.00pm CEST) - Good practice in clinical and laboratory genetics
The seminar will present:
- Cross-border collaboration in the field of education, research and raising awareness about genetic counselling in Europe, by Dr. Rebecka Pestoff (Linköping University Hospital, SE) and Dr. Charlotta Ingvoldstad-Malmgren (Karolinska University Hospital, SE) for the Nordic Network on Genetic counselling (NNGC)
- Clinical and technical quality assurance challenges, by Dr. Weronika Gutowska-Ding (EMQN, UK)
Session 2 (1.00pm-1.30pm CEST) - IVDR & Genetics: from Burden to Balance?
The seminar will present the proposed amendments of Regulation (EU)2017/746 to simplify and reduce the burden of the rules on in vitro diagnostic medical devices. What will be the practical implications for genetic diagnostic laboratories?
