6th Course in Hereditary Cancer Genetics

This course aims at delivering up-to-date knowledge on hereditary cancer to clinical and molecular geneticists in training or certified. It creates the best opportunity for interaction and discussion with experts from all over Europe, in the fabulous environment of Bertinoro, one of the the headquarters of the ESHG sponsored courses.
The faculty combines experts from many fields of cancer genetics known for their didactic skills.
Participants are encouraged to present their research works as well as a clinical or genetic case in a poster format for on-site discussion. Prizes will be awarded for best presentations.

General Information
The 6th course in Hereditary Cancer Genetics is planned as a live conference in Bertinoro, Italy from September 22-25, 2026.
In addition, a virtual attendance will be possible as follows:
- Availability of pre-recorded talks of the morning sessions from Friday, October 27, 2026 to Sunday, January 31, 2027 for registered (virtual) participants.
- Participants registered for the virtual edition will receive access to the recordings via a dedicated link.
- Important note: no access to live talks will be possible. This is an on-demand course.
CME accreditation
Please note that CME credits are available for in-person participation in Bertinoro only and cannot be provided for virtual attendance.
The 6th Course in Hereditary Cancer Genetics, Bertinoro, Italy 22/09/2026 - 25/09/2026 , has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 19.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at https://edhub.ama-assn.org/pages/applications.
Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Fellowship Application
You can apply for the Felllowships offered by the European Society of Human Genetics.
Principal Investigators (PIs) and Department Heads are not eligible to apply. Applications with incomplete or missing documents will not be considered.
The fellowship is including tuition, course material, lunches, coffee breaks, dinners, transportation to the course venue and back from the Bologna Airport and 3 nights accommodation in double rooms to be shared with another participant at the course venue or hotels nearby (if necessary) from September 22-25, 2026.
Please note that other travel arrangements must be made individually - flights are not included in the registration fee.
For the application, you need to upload your cv, a reference and a motivation letter.
Deadline for applying April 30, 2026.
You will receive the notification of acceptance (or no acceptance) by the middle of June.

- Registration fee is euro 850,00 including tuition, course material, lunches, coffee breaks, dinners, transportation to the course venue to Bologna airport and back and 3 nights accommodation in double rooms to be shared with another participant at the course venue or hotels nearby (if necessary) from September 22-25, 2026. Please note that other travel arrangements must be made individually - flights are not included in the registration fee.
- A shuttle bus will leave from Bologna to Bertinoro at approx. 10.00 am on September 22 and at the end of the course on September 25.
- if you also applied for a fellowship: You may select bank transfer as your payment method and postpone the payment until you have been informed about the outcome of your fellowship application.

- Please send the abstract of your poster to rpartisani(at)ceub.it by September 1st . The abstract should be a text of 250 words, plus title, authors and affiliations.
