Glossary of Terms for ESHG Document Support for ESHG Website

Endorsement – Full formal support of a document. Indicates ESHG has been actively involved in its development, through its committees or appointed experts, and agrees with its contents in their entirety. This is the highest level of support.

Approval – Acknowledges that the document broadly aligns with ESHG's position, even if ESHG was not the lead developer. May be granted when ESHG members contributed to the drafting process or when the content is consistent with ESHG's values and aims.

Support in Principle – Indicates general agreement with the document's objectives or direction, without full commitment to every detail, with minimal or no drafting role. May be given when the topic is of strategic importance to ESHG or the wider community.

No Endorsement – When ESHG decides not to provide any level of support. This can occur if the document does not align with ESHG's policies, has insufficient evidence base, or falls outside the scope of ESHG's mission.
