How to apply for "official non-corporate satellite" status?
The ESHG generally welcomes non-corporate satellites around the ESHG conference. Those are "open" meetings being of interest to the general Human Genetics audience, going from a few hours to 1-2 days, scheduled ahead or after the ESHG conference
These satellites need to comply with the following rules:
Timing: Non-corporate satellite meetings must not overlap with the main ESHG conference programme (Saturday-Tuesday). This applies to satellites held both at the ESHG conference- or an outside venue (hotel/university).
Possible days: Availability and non-interference with the set-up works of the conference provided, the satellite can be held at the conference venue on Thursday and/or Friday ahead of the conference. As a rule, ESHG will have vacated the premises on Wednesday, so no restrictions apply for this day.
Venue: Contracts for the rental of rooms, AV, catering etc. will have to be made directly with the venue. In case the meeting shall be held in the same venue as the ESHG meeting, ESHG will however have to make the contact between the parties, as the conference center is instructed not to rent out any rooms to third parties during this period.
Programme: The chair of the SPC reserves the final verdict on granting the status of "official ESHG satellite" based on the tentative programme.
Recognition: The meeting will then be publicised as official ESHG satellite on the conference website and several mailings and cross linked with the satellites website/registration form.
